As described in this month's issue of Southern Jewelry News, The Gemological Institute of America (the GIA) recently released an iPad application to help consumers with "the 4 Cs." Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat weight are the four elements to consider when buying a diamond.
The new app features videos and interactive tools that help the consumer understand the degrees and origin of "the 4 Cs." It is a free download on the Apple App Store.
The app also features a "My Diamond Wish List" where customers can enter the specifications of the diamond they like. At that point, the customer can take their specifications into a jeweler to buy or order the perfect diamond.
