12.76-Carat Pink Diamond Found in Australia

A beautiful 12.76-carat diamond was unearthed at the Rio Tinto's Argyle diamond mine. The mine, located in Western Australia, produces 90 percent of the global market diamond supply, according to NPR.

The diamond is expected to bring about $1 million per carat at auction at Christie's later this year, reported The Telegraph

In 244 years, Christie's has only auctioned 18 polished pink diamonds larger than 10 carats. The diamond's size and quality is being called "unprecedented."
